Great Plains Quarterly began publication in 1981 and contains peer-reviewed articles on history, literature, and culture of the Great Plains. This journal finds a readership among both scholars and the interested general public and is used by college instructors in their assigned reading lists. It is edited by a faculty member from the UNL campus with the aid of an editorial assistant and a distinguished international board of advisory editors.
