Contest Rules

1. Entrant must be enrolled in a college degree program at time of entry.
2. Entry must be an original work of the submitter, and must be solely the work of the entrant.
3. Entry must have a clear connection to one of John G. Neihardt's works.
4. Contest timeline must be adhered to.
5. Contest entries shall be submitted online at www.neihardt.com.
6. Winners will be notified in writing.
7. Entries will be judged on quality of individual work, appropriateness of content and how well it contributes to the legacy of John Neihardt.
8. Entries will be judged by no fewer than three scholars familiar with Neihardt's works representing different institutions.
9. Decisions of the judges are final.
10. Members of the Neihardt Trust, the Neihardt family and the Neihardt Foundation are ineligible for entry.
11. All submissions must conform to manuscript guidelines.
12. One entry per student.
13. All the entries become the property of the Neihardt Trust
