John G. Neihardt Center

Located in Bancroft, Nebraska, the Neihardt Center was constructed for the study and preservation of the works of John G. Neihardt.

A Nebraska State Historic Site

The Neihardt Center, under the management of the John G. Neihardt Foundation, is a branch museum of the Nebraska State Historical Society. The memorial room in the state historic site repeats the symbolism of the 'Hoop of the World' and chronicles Neihardt's life, works and the times in which he lived. While at the center, visitors may view videotapes that give the viewer the opportunity to see and listen to the poet. A research library offers scholars the opportunity to examine works by and about the poet, including copies of Neihardt's manuscripts and his critical essays.
